Hashoo School of Hospitality Management (HSHM) has entered into an agreement with Iqra University in Karachi to launch hospitality educational projects and skill development programs for youth in the city.
The agreement was signed by Haseeb Gardezi, COO of Hospitality and Education Division at Hashoo Group, and Dr Mirza Amin Ullah Haq, Registrar of Iqra University. The ceremony was attended by Naveed Lakhani, Chairman of Iqra University, Dr Zaki Rashidi, Director of Bahria Campus, and senior management from both institutions.
The program aims to address the shortage of skilled hospitality and tourism industry leaders in Pakistan by training and equipping students with necessary skills. HSHM program will be introduced in major cities across Pakistan, and graduates will be offered job placements at Hashoo Hotels across the country. The shortage of skilled and experienced leaders in the hospitality and tourism industry is a pressing issue in Pakistan, and this initiative is expected to help address this problem.

The partnership between academia and industry is expected to have positive benefits for both parties. During the ceremony, Dr. Zaki Rashidi, Director of Bahria Campus, spoke about the significance of the partnership, emphasizing that academia coming close to industry will accrue positive dividends for both partners. “Today is a very important day in the history of HSHM as we are partnering with the most iconic institute of Pakistan, Iqra University” said Mr. Haseeb Gardezi. He expressed his resolve to ensure that this new program will attract many potential students as it has a lot of scope for the future. Naveed Lakhani, Chairman of Iqra University, also emphasized the importance of the hospitality industry in Pakistan and explained the necessity of education in hospitality and tourism, which would provide students with global opportunities.
